SUPREME ALLIED COMMANDER S.E. ASIA is Acting Vice-Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten, G.C.V.O., D.S.O., Naval A.D.C. to H.M. the King, appointed appointed Aug. 25, 1943. Former Combined Operations Chief, he helped plan famous raids at Vaagso, St. Nazaire and Dieppe. Aged 43, he has been in the Navy for 31 years. With him is Air Chief Marshal Sir R. Pierse, K.C.B., C.B., D.S.O. D.S.O. (left), who on Dec. 19, 1943, was announced commander of all combat units of the R.A.F. and U.S.A.A.F. in S.E. Asia (known as Eastern Air Command).
